The Diary of a Mosquito
I had this idea a while ago to make a book about the life of a mosquito. I know, exciting. But I thought that I could add at least two interesting things to the story to make it, um, interesting:
1. Write it in diary style, day by day, every day, from day one. Since mosquitos don't live that long anyway, this wouldn't be much of a problem. Also, write it in first person.
2. Create a mosquito world that is strangely similar to ours, with lines that you would expect to hear in a typical home or business or something setting, but with the words changed somewhat. ("Hey, honey! Can we take the kid's out for Italian tonight? I hear there's a good family just moved down here to go camping for a few days." Stuff like that...)
Anyway, that's all I have on that. I wanted to make him a rebellious, hero type of mosquito who makes a name for himself. (Kind of like Flik from "Bugs Life". Hey! He was a bug, too! Hm...) Or I could make him your average joe mosquito simply trying to make his way through life. Either one could make a good story, anyway.
Oh! And it doesn't have to be scientifically accurate. (Could you tell from my desciption thus far? :) ...) As in, males will be able to suck blood too, and they'll probably stay around to raise their kids and stuff like that. I COULD try it with all (or most; mosquitos writing diaries is definitely not accurate), the scientific facts in place, but I probably won't.
